Our beliefs

The Bible

We believe that the Bible, which consists of the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, is God’s words to mankind, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy and is the supreme authority in matters of faith, lifestyle and the church.

God

We believe that there is one God who is the sovereign creator of the universe. The Godhead exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All three persons of the Godhead are eternal and equal in power, essence and glory.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, fully God and fully man, that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided the redemption for our sins through His sacrificial death on the Cross, was raised bodily from the grave after three days, ascended back to the right hand of the Father in heaven where He ever lives to make intercession for us until He comes again for those who believe in Him and to judge the earth.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, as the third person of the Godhead, is co-equal and co-eternal with God. The Holy Spirit brings individuals under conviction to recognize their need for forgiveness takes up permanent residence in each Christian from the moment of salvation, distributes spiritual gifts to each Christian as He wills, and provides each Christian with the power for living, understanding spiritual truth and guidance in obedience to the will of God.

Mankind

We believe mankind that was created by God, in His image and for relationship with Him. Man however, by willful disobedience, became alienated from God. As a result of sin, mankind is separated from God and will undergo not only a physical death, but a spiritual death which is separation from God. All of mankind is now born into sin possessing a sinful nature which renders him in need of reconciliation with God, unable to save himself and without hope apart from God’s help.

Salvation

We believe that all people are sinners by nature and practice and are separated from God by their own sin, yet salvation, redemption and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of God. Mankind can be saved from the consequences of sin, not by any of his/her own efforts or good works, but only by the grace of God through his/her faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. When an individual repents of his/her sin and trusts in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, that person is “born again” to newness of life. That individual is sealed by the Holy Spirit, all of his/her sins are forgiven and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.

Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, the righteous and the unrighteous; the righteous to everlasting blessing and communion with God, the unrighteous to everlasting separation from God.

Angels

We believe that God created a great number of angels to minister to Himself and to believers. Satan and the demons are fallen angels who rebelled and sinned against God, who have been and continue to be actively engaged in opposing Christ and believers, and who will be cast into the Lake of Fire forever at the return of Christ.

Return of Christ

We believe in the imminent coming of Jesus Christ to receive His Bride, the Church and in His literal, personal return to the earth to establish His Kingdom.

Church

We believe the Church is comprised of all who have turned from their sin and have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. These are members of the body of Christ with Christ as the Head of His Church. The local church is a group of believers in a certain locale who are committed to meet together for worship, teaching, fellowship, service and outreach. The Church observes two ordinances – water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (or Communion).
